Newly received, 2TB drive from the factory.

Selling or not it's an ombudsman question.

He is the deal, you bought your things from Temu or Aliexpress but not ebay, then, all the prize are review by ombudsman. And them every week like they have agreement over what is going to be refund and what pass over the Shenzhen market. So when boss of Gill(1) to launch an alert about time to increase the tariff by 100%, it only make more channel for seller being monitor by ombudsman, and they only have one thing to do, to press the button pass for the buyers get the merchandise they order or the button is also paired with a warning about seller having a too much high prize and frequently asking to change the shipping path from a place from China to United State. So they still let the button at the refund mode and for people expecting to buy an hard drive of memory this month and tell 300$ is your budget to buy about a 2TB, your going to get refund in all major case where the 2TB is expecting to by over 200$. Mine cost only 50 $CA, get 11 days to get delivered. The delivery condition was good and there is no damage. It's an SSD in a boxes and it's not an NVME or NGFF, where you're right they had a bit exploded as prize, but not the 2242 ( tiny 1 inch and forth long ). And you know what they are cheaper then long NVME/NGFF and might be reserved by the year 2015 and were absolutely not available for selling and being under control for laptop serving for DELL, Lenovo, Samsung, Toshiba, but now available a Tera Byte from a 2242 format cost less and they are around 100 $CA while NVME/NGFF the long one in 2280 format exploded from 75$CA last year to 150 $CA. A big pocket was unable to predict a rate of something that's not existing or nearly not available around the moment he want to turn the America back to it's so called state of Great Again.

Here the snapshot that cost 50$ with the delivery.

And behind that there is the 256 GB in green in uses with my Raspberry Pi4 with an USB connector over a USB switch in 3.0 mode and does work well in exFat format. There the 512Gb in uses with my Xeon as default operating system booting, which are the same brand the green one. So why not trying a bigger size. I still regret a bit my NVME at 2TB for having virtually failled, but since it leave the Gen3x4 NVME socket to adopt an PCIE 1x card NVME adapter to run 4.0 PCIE NVME apparently it run and the Cooleo big cooler with metal fin and cold-pipe does apparently not making itself failing. But another thruth actually more PCIE 4.0 NVME disk drive are increasing, than Gen 3x4 does appear to be less available in 1TB, 2TB because the market is really at the Gen 3x4, and many company laptop and computer were in Gen 3x4 rather than 4.0 pcie. In many case like mine you do require to buy and extra adapter. And yet to tell what I will buy sooner or later, an 16x pcie adapter to afford a 32 to 64 Gbps rate that run 4.0 pcie and will be installed on a second 16 channel over the Huananzhi motherboard AD4. Did you know "Huananzhi" mean "South China" simply ?  Yeah the one that always require smooth power with no interruption or backup power. Some day I will have to quench few extra buck into getting a power-backup. There is some with CA/US outlet providing 300w for an hour, which mean for a 650 watts power supply to supply for 27 minutes and less. As long it's not receiving the phase change or the abrupt rupture for strong discontinuities, during lightning, heavy snow and huge wind. Because hey are really expensive in delivering at least 200$CA to never get shutdown for faint interruption it might be a good solution.

 FutureShop refurbish and discount center.

It's close since 2015, and especially 11 year ago. But in June 2014, almost ten year ago it was existing. I buy a 500Gb from the company COMST where the SATA to USB was relatively cheap, and I stop using the disk after loosing the power cord. Get an old 300 watts power-supply to work he become noisy and I stop to use it. Today or the few days back I decide to get my Vantec toaster at work and connect it back to my Xeon. Since the Sata plug was merely dead, it offer no problem to run and I expect reformat it in low level until it pop up the information it's not a 500Gb from Western Digital a Green brand but declare to be 2.2TB in 3.5 inch and without S.M.A.R.T. which is really important in disk from mechanical state. So apparently near this date 2014-2015, drive was low as long it was not an S.M.A.R.T. capable. One of the good thing of this system is to report uses of the disk, and it's MTBF does not tell if it's exhausted or not. But for 119 $CA at the time it's extremely low. Beside COMST may have produced different 500Gb external drive with a good metal shelve, I am low level format it and actually it really exceed the 500Gb signature inform on the sticker of the disk. If I divide it into 3 part and doing RAID5 level I may probably gain 730 Gb and make it possible to renew the data if there is few loss. But beside the 1TB from Western Digital blue with S.M.AR.T. it blow up my squash-file mounted with unionfs developed in shell script to mount the read-only compressed file and do all the change to file into unionfs which is apparently an Unix/Solaris initiative ported to Linux it help but after all the input/output error it generate, I guess I'll try over the 2.2 TB before because the 1TB acquire in January 2015 at the closing of FutureShop I believe they play football with before they sell me this one. Mechanical hard drive with all it's majesty and it's constraint.

An the similar structure of compacted binary are SNAP also from Solaris but especially Apple thing which are apparently HFS+ compressed with an end-point to write update. Every OS own it's compacting solution, Microsoft has it's DoubleSpacer from MS-DOS 6.22, bought from Stacker compressor.

Finally, since the computer processing power is in the house, it's Virtual OS which consume more and experiencing many bundle under Linux, the day I am tired of open solution, I'll buy VmWare and that's it.
